1) You MUST INSPIRE, not just Motivate.

The greek definition for INSPIRE is “breath within." This means that you must create within the person the “breath" of confidence and energy that they can connect to and embrace.

Modeling.

You must be the role model and guide to show your mlm folks that you are worthy of following, and are a leader. Do what you ask them to do, and do it BIG. Show them that you believe in what you are saying, and you do it daily. And through your actions and words, let them “breathe" into their hearts, and keep them inspired and wanting to follow you into a greater life of Success in MLM.

2) You MUST Praise, not just Promote.

Praise is the secret weapon to motivating people. Many times, we will promote the new folks who went up a pin level, and that is important. But praising someone for a valiant effort will motivate 10 times more.

People will always appreciate being appreciated for the effort, not just the result. Motivation must have a foundation of praise and recognition. If you have that foundation and praise and recognize your people for their efforts, you will find that there will be more pin levels to celebrate.

3) You MUST pour into them what has been ignored.

Most people never get much of any encouragement. That is our job in MLM. We must encourage those who not only need it, but all who are on your team. There is nothing more motivating than the right word at the right time. A word of belief, or a word of “I am there with you" can go a long way in keeping people onFIRE. You must pour into your team Big Thinking, Big Belief, Big Vision, Big Future, Big Life. You must constantly say the 4 most powerful words in network marketing: “I believe in you."

This is a list of the 12 things that you want MLM to bring into your life that is not currently there. Dream of what you want in your life. List the 12 things you desire, and a the bottom draw a line with the date on it, and then sign it. 9) Make your HOT Market List.

When you start your enterprise, you must LOOK TO THE PEOPLE THAT WILL HELP YOU- NO MATTER WHAT! This is called your HOT MARKET. No matter what you do, these are the people that will help you in any way they can, and support you in any way possible. Call these folks first.

10) “Get familiar with the Tools and Brochures your company has, and any other training tool."

Get familiar with the recruiting tools, the presentation tools, the training tools, and any other tool the company has. This also includes websites, webcasts, and conference calls. Learn how to USE THEM PROPERLY, and how to maximize the power within each. It is NOT just about TALENT, but about the TOOLS in Network Marketing.

11) “Get a calendar or planner to start focusing in on the time you will spend working your business."

Get a Franklin Planner, or some kind of Day Timer, and start scheduling your actions and tasks. Yes, you can use a palm pilot, but I have found that planners are more effective for new people. When are you going to start your business, decide how many hours are you planning on working, and then highlight the hours you are going to spend working. This will give you a visual map of what your week looks like.

12) “Ask this question- Who do I know that knows a TON of people , and will be willing to help me get started with some names?"

Call them, and tell them you need their help. Go see them, and see what kind of help they can give you as far as opening doors and referring some folks to you. You will ride their credibility, and their contacts. Yes, you must call your own warm market, but this is a great way to jump start your business and MLM Success as well.

13) “Who do you know that is VERY Successful? Write their names down."

Then call them. Ask for their help. Ask if you can come and see them, and show them what you are doing, and see if they have any suggestions in ways to marketing it, and promoting it.

14) “Find a good script to practice, and then reduce it into TALKING POINTS."

There are many great scripts that you can use to call people with, and your MLM company probably has one. Find a good one that you can connect with, and then reduce it to Bullet Points that you can use in your own style. Then PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

15) “Find a good third party tool to help in your recruiting and presentation effort.

Many times we have a tendency to focus on the doing everything ourselves, and we end up talking ourselves out of the sale or recruit. Keep a tool handy to let the prospect look at, or listen to, and you can then have numerous presentations going on at once, using cds or dvds as presenters.

16) “Become a product of the product- and a Success story as well."

17) “Before approaching anyone, know the 4 Power Words."

The most powerful words that you can use in approaching people are "I NEED YOUR HELP." These words change the person's listening from "What do they want?" to "How can I help?" Psychologically , they are Trigger Words. They trigger our instincts to help. Use them. They are powerful.

18) " Set a time to start actually calling your warm market list, and write it down."

This little tip will help you focus in on when you are pulling the trigger to call your list, but also psychologically get you used to the idea. Have your sponsor help if needed, with three ways. Either way, START CALLING.

19) "Ask for people's HELP, Time, Attention, Assistance, or Input- but NOT their Money."

People in MLM that come across like they have a dollar bill stuck on their forehead face massive resistance. Your prospect feels your hand already reaching for their money. Objections are a training all by themselves. You must learn to neutralize them, and use them to work FOR YOU, not against you. When a prospect has a question, simply say, "Thank you for asking that....I would love to answer it, and will answer all your questions in a just a second...and it goes to show you are thinking!"!"

30)"Be focused. Be THERE, and not somewhere else in your mind."

People can actually tell when you are going through the motions, and not really into what you are saying. Three rules in MLM Recruiting: BeThere. Be Present. Be With the Person. Not with your thoughts of something else.

31)) “Ask a question every minute or so. Keep Drawing Them into Your MLM Recruiting Conversation."

33) "When on the telephone, use words that paint a picture, and are emotional."

34) “Never understimate the Power of the Three Golden Words in MLM Recruiting."

There are three words that are GOLDEN in Recruiting, and life. They carry a Connection Magnet with them. "I Totally Understand". Those words are powerful when talking about any life situation that comes up, and use them often, as they will create a MAGNETISM in your personality.

35) "Use the word TRUTH when Recruiting, as that will anchor in their heart, and understanding."

"When I was first looking at Network Marketing, I was looking for only the truth of the matter, as it was important to me...and I would think it would be for you?" The word "Truth" is a powerful word, as you bring the reality of the matter right out in the open and lay it out, dispelling any doubts in their mind from the very beginning.

36) "Never play "Verbal Judo" in MLM Recruiting. If someone disagrees with you, thank them for it. It is their right to disagree."

38) " When using the telephone, make sure that you are more animated than normal. It will display energy, and magnetism."

The telephone is a great communication tool, but it will never replace face to face interaction. Let people FEEL your words, and make sure that you come across as confident and someone that is going places, and taking people with you.

39) "The prospect is thinking one thing: How will this ENLARGE my Lifestyle?"

Most people in life, are looking to Enlarge their income. ALL people are looking to Enlarge thewir lifestyle. Find out what kind they want. "Tell me about the kind of lifestyle you have often dreamed of..."

40) "Make sure that there are NO distractions when you are talking to the prospect about your Network Marketing Home Business."

Remember this: If the prospect is distracted, they are not focused on your message. "Would you like to wait a couple of minutes before I go on?" If the distractions continue, make another appointment.

Use the word Vehicle, or Business. Our society looks at the word "opportunity'" today as "Uh oh...not another one of those".

44)" The first thing you MUST do is get the Prospect COMFORTABLE. Talk about THEM."

If the prospect is not comfortable with you, they will NOT be comfortable with your message. Talk ONLY about them the first 5 minutes.

45) "Find out what is the MOST Valuable thing in a person's life, then wrap the presentation around it."

Family usually is. "How this will impact your family is.....How this will increase the time you have with your family is... This business will help you bring that dream into reality in your life..."

People want to KNOW there is a real chance in life, to live the life they dream of. Don't dwell on how things are in a person's life. Focus on how things SHOULD be, and WILL be. Be the Knight in Shining Armor.

rat race

The rat race is a term often used to describe work, particularly excessive work; in general terms, if one works too much, one is in the rat race. This terminology contains implications that many people see work as a seemingly endless pursuit with little reward or purpose. Not all workers feel like that. It is the perceived Conventional Wisdom, for example, that those who work for themselves are generally happier at work.
The increased image of work as a "rat race" in modern times has led many to question their own attitudes to work and seek a better alternative; a more harmonious Work-life balance. Many believe that long work hours, unpaid overtime, stressful jobs, time spent commuting, less time for family life and/or friends life, has led to a generally unhappier workforce/population unable to enjoy the benefits of increased economic prosperity and a higher standard of living.

Fear???

Are you driven by fear?

Many of us focus so much on methods, tactics, or MEANS, that we forget what result, what END we're seeking.
Take escaping the rat race, for example. You might be so keen on getting out of the uncertainty of a 9-to-5 job, so keep on leaving corporate politics behind, so keen on not doing mindless work that you don't care about... that you focus solely on getting out.

Without investing your best brain work on what to get into... after you make it out.

Allowing yourself to be driven by THE ESCAPE is fear-based... and has a lower rate of success than allowing yourself to be motivated by your new life. Your true calling. YOUR PURPOSE.

Listen, the purpose thing doesn't have to be that heavy. It doesn't have to be what will be written on your tombstone. But it should be something that you are passionate enough about, right now, that you would do it for free. Heck, you would even pay someone to get to do this every day.


So lose the vision of living large on a Caribbean island, touring the world, etc.

Those are the side perks, and there's nothing wrong with them. But they're not the main event. They're not part of your personal, self-created formula for success.


Instead, focus all your immediate positive energy, on figuring out what fills you with passion. Design your job for the next 5 years - totally income-independent. But big on impact.


Then go out and start doing that new job.Your rat race escape will take the cue, and follow the lead.

How to succeed in network marketing

Have you just started out in Network Marketing and have no idea what to do next? Statistics show that just like 95% of small businesses and new companies fail in their first year, 95% of Network Marketers fail in their first year. Here are 11 points from Robert Butwin’s book “Street Smart Network Marketing” to help you to not become part of the statistics:

1. Let your business tools do the talking for you. Use letters, audio tapes, CDs, brochures and other tools to convey the message so that when you talk in person or on the phone, you can concentrate on your relationship with the other person.

2. Go ahead and live the lifestyle! Be relaxed and show people that you're having fun because of what you do for a living.

3. If someone says they're not interested or they don't have the desire to do what you do, don't put any more energy trying to turn them into someone they're not.
4. Use your up line to help you welcome new people to the organization. Send your new people's names to the up line and ask that they send an appropriate welcome. 5. You will have your own "law of averages" for getting new people to join your business. As you improve, that average will become better and better.

6. See your business as your life, not a job. Visualize it as it will be when you've got it built the way you want it, then you'll be motivated to work toward the vision!

7. Check out the people who are behind the scenes running the company you're thinking about joining. Your future may depend on their past.

8. Networking is about partnering both with the company you represent and the customer you will distribute their products to.

9. When you find special people who want to work with you down line in network marketing, build loyalty in them by working VERY CLOSELY one-on-one with them for about 6 months. They will then have all your knowledge, plus their own, to put to use.

10. Don't judge people! You'll meet many people and we all tend to make first impressions about other people's ability to succeed, whether we will enjoy working with them, how smart they are, and so forth. Very often, network marketers who look like superstars at first, drop out in weeks, while those we may not expect to do much become the superstars. How do you know the difference? By sticking with them long enough to know. There are no short cuts in the people business.

11. To succeed in Network Marketing, as in anything, you must know where you want to go - what your goals are - and have beliefs that correspond with your goals. Robert Butwin’s advice is to get a mentor; someone who has already done what you want to do, and listen to their advice.
